The duration of a session depends on the area being treated. During your consultation, Nurse Jen will give you an estimate of how long your treatment will be.

Most clients experience mild to moderate discomfort during the procedure. To help reduce any pain and enhance your comfort, a topical numbing cream is applied before the treatment.

It's important to recognize that these treatments require both physical and mental resilience. Preparing yourself mentally for some discomfort during the treatment is essential. Additionally, it's advisable to avoid scheduling your treatment around your menstrual cycle, as it may lower your pain tolerance.

Most clients see noticeable results after just one treatment and they are satisfied with their results. However, depending on the individual, their skin goals, and the area being treated, an additional 1-2 sessions may be recommended to reach your skin goals.

The recommended amount of time to wait before having another Fibroblast treatment varies, but I advise most clients to wait a minimum of 12 weeks, as your skin continues produce collagen and results peak around that time.

It is not recommended to have more than 4 lifetime fibroblast treatments done.

The results of a Fibroblast treatment can last 2–5 years, but the longevity of results depends on a number of factors, including age, lifestyle, skincare (wear your SPF), and genetics. Additional treatments (either Fibroblast or Cold Jet Plasma) can be done to maintain results.

Recovery time varies for each client, however, most clients take about 7-10 days of social downtime. For the face, your "dots", or tiny crusts, typically fall off after 5-7 days. For the body, the "dots", or tiny crusts, can take up to 14 days to shed themselves. During this time, you may experience swelling, redness, and formation of small scabs in the treated area(s) - DO NOT PICK THEM. Once the "dots" fall off, you"ll have fresh skin that may be pink depending on your skin tone. The pinkness may last days to several weeks depending on the area of the body being treated.

To help with that, we use the Monk Skin Tone Scale—a 10-shade guide that gives us a more inclusive way to understand skin tone. It helps us better determine how a client may respond to a heat-based treatment like Fibroblast, especially for those with melanin-rich skin.

You may have also heard of the Fitzpatrick Scale, which classifies skin based on how it burns or tans. While we may reference it because many people are familiar with it, we use the Monk Scale as our primary guide. It was developed in partnership with Google and Harvard sociologist Dr. Ellis Monk to support more equitable representation in AI and technology—and while it wasn’t designed specifically for skincare, its broader range makes it incredibly useful for evaluating visual skin tone in a more inclusive way.

For Monk Skin Tone Scale 1 - 4: A patch test is recommended 4 weeks prior to your appointment. If you do not want a patch test, we will have you sign a waiver.

For Monk Skin Tone Scale 5 - 6: A patch test is mandatory.

For Monk Skin Tone Scale 7 - 10: This Monk Skin Tone range means is not safe for Fibroblast treatment due to the increased chance of healing with either hypo or hyperpigmentation.

Preparing for Your Fibroblast Plasma Treatment

During your consultation, Nurse Jen will provide specific instructions tailored to your needs. Here are general preparation guidelines:

Weeks Before Treatment:

• Avoid sun exposure for 4 weeks before treatment - your skin should be as close to its natural tone as possible.

• Discontinue use of retinoids and other skin products high in active ingredients for 3 weeks.

• Avoid Botox/fillers for two weeks prior to your treatment (and 4 weeks post-treatment).

• If you are prone to cold sores, have Herpes, or a history of Shingles, take your antiviral medication for one week prior and one week after treatment.

• Avoid caffeine for ONE week prior to treatment.

• Avoid alcohol for ONE week prior to treatment.

• Note for smokers: Cigarette smoking may delay your healing process.

Day of Treatment:

• Ensure you're well-hydrated.

• Eat a good meal before your appointment, and bring snacks.

• Do not wear makeup, contact lenses, or lash extensions if you're having your face treated.

Additional Notes:

• Stay well-hydrated in the days leading up to your treatment.

• Inform Nurse Jen of any changes in your health or medications since your consultation.
